
Overview
The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa's greatest natural wonders. Formed two to three million years ago, this massive volcanic caldera stretches 260 square kilometres and shelters an incredible concentration of wildlife. Lions, elephants, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino all live within the crater walls. The floor of the crater receives animals year-round making it one of Africa's most reliable wildlife destinations.
